The client, a start-up company by the name of Pendleton Toys, wished to open a flagship store that would be the model for a series of stores to open around the country. Not wanting to be known as only a “toy shop,” the design called for an activity center; a place for learning and connecting with peers and products in new ways and in a safe environment.

The program called not only for space planning but also branding, storyline development, and thoughtful product selection.
