Cant Chair / Product

The furniture design studio at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad is a two-month long program, located at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in downtown Copenhagen. The first four weeks are spent studying traditional and modern Danish design and traveling through Scandinavia on various study tours. Students then have one week to design and two weeks to build a sit-able chair using one of three materials: solid wood, wood veneer, or steel.

This design comprises 7 meters tubular steel, 12 meters steel rod, 39 welds, and 83 hours of work.
